Momtographer Tips: Keep Your Camera Roll Under Control
The amount of photos I have in my camera roll that need to be deleted is ridiculous. Anyone else?? Use these tips to help narrow down pictures, organize favorites, and keep your camera roll under control.
Tip #1 Scroll through ALL of your photos
Scrolling through all of your photos can seem like a daunting task. Let’s break it into parts. On your first run through, find and delete any screen shot you don’t need in your camera roll anymore. Screenshots are pretty easy to pick out as you quickly scroll through your phone. Next, find “bursts” of images (5-10 images that look almost the same) and pick out 1 or 2 of the best images from the burst and delete the rest. Complete a final scroll through of all your images and delete photos you know don’t need to be stored anymore. Doing these things will significantly reduce the number of photos in your camera roll.
Tip #2 Delete as you go
I am the queen of taking 15 photos to get just one that I like. When I find “bursts” of what look like the same image I scroll back through them and delete anything that doesn’t have the look I want. Once you get in the habit of this doing a full camera roll overhaul won’t take nearly as long.
Tip #3 Add Photos to Favorites
After taking a series of photos stop and do a quick look through. Find the “keepers” and hit that little heart to save those photos to your favorites folder. In the future, when you need to find them they will be organized and ready for you. I’m not sure why it took me so long to get in the habit of this. It’s seriously a game-changer. Not having to scroll through your entire camera roll, but only one folder is such a time-saver!!
